Something To Chew

Got a gift from Anne Faye's cookies. ^^ Very nice. Chewy chocolate chip cookies. Yes that's right CHEWY. Most of chocolate chip cookies are either crunchy/tough. It's interesting with the chewy part. Should try one for yourself. It came in a box of two. One is chocolate chip cookies and another is chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. So hurry now and try :D

The Rising Star

American Idol is starting again. This season is all about the young ones. After seeing the top 12 girls perform, tonight are the 12 guys turn. I would definitely pick one of the guys to be the idol this season. Is not that the girls are bad, they are potentially good. But the guys are great.:) I got my eyes on David Archuleta, the young lad with the most powerful voice, he's just so talented. Singing so matured for his age, this humble guy will be like by many.

2 In 1 Treat

We got invited to a birthday dinner. A two in one birthday treat. One is for Renny, whose birthday falls on the 11^th, and her dad whose birthday is today. We went to a new franchised restaurant called No Signboard Seafood at the Pacific Place. Do you know why they name it No Signboard? It's because, the owner first open her stall without a signboard. As the stall getting more and more customer, people start to refer the stall as the 'no signboard' seafood stall. And now the small stall they first open has already become a big restaurant with branchesJ Nice isn’t it! Anyway, I didn’t get many pictures of us eating together cos I forgot to charge the battery (again… silly me!) but I managed to take all of the food pictures :D

Road To Stardom

Dessy called with the most interesting question to ask in the afternoon. She asked me to join her in a Sing a Song audition together with the other 3 colleague of ours. A game shows in RCTI (a national TV) which going to test your knowledge and singing skill in Indonesian songs. I was like ‘errrr… okay?!’ I don’t really know much about Indonesian singer. Let alone singing the song. But for the fun of it, I guess, why not! So, off we go to the audition. After experiencing the audition, I must say I never know how humiliating it can be singing in front of people you don’t know, with style you don’t even want to mention. I guess artist must have high quality of self-esteem. If not they, just have to be thick skin about it. It was fun though. So I might try on other game show, you’ll never know :D One of the experiences you’ll never forget.

A Reunion

D.A is back again. This time she managed to gather even more people than the usual gathering. Every time D.A is back, she always makes time for us to gather. She invites as many school friends as possible. I might say like a small school reunion. It is fun to meet up old school friend. Especially those who haven’t meet for several years now. Love to see the different yet familiar face again. ^^ This time we met up at Ming Restaurant in Senayan City. A new restaurant own by one of our friend who is supposed to join the gathering as well, but in the end she cannot make it, cos she is still in Semarang for family visit (yes, the festive season is not over yet) There were some complication with the ordering. Waiter gave wrong information, and not knowing who order what. However, other than that anything is excusable. The food was great. Superb!

Gong Xi Gong Xi

Another day, another dinner. What I always like about this occasion other than the 'hong bao’ is the food. Eat and eat and eat is the main reason we have this celebration. So tonight is the fancy dinner invitation from the big uncle. Since my grandmother passed away, we always had our celebration at Mulia Hotel. Its not that it’s bad to have the celebration at a Hotel. But sometimes, I just miss having that informal celebration at home with the whole family eating home cook food. Anyway, time has change and maybe we have to be ready for a new year and a new tradition. ^^ I was late for dinner, when I arrived everybody were already there greeting each other. This is the fun part. We greet “Gong Xi Gong Xi” and the married couples have to give a 'hong bao' to those who are not married yet. Woohoo! Money harvesting :D Afterwards, we settle down for an evening prayer before dinner. Yes as you can see, we are not that ‘family’ who follows the actual tradition anymore. We don’t necessarily need to celebrate this occasion actually, but to respect our ancestor and the tradition that our elderly has pass down we are quite happy to relive it and pass it down to the next generation as well. Dinner was great, spreads of choices at the buffet table.
