Harpitnas Day

Harpitnas (Hari Kejepit Nasional) day ^^ is the working day between holidays. The laziest day to work. It feels like a holiday yet you still have to work. Well anyway to get the day goes by we went to meet Ndutty for lunch at Pacific Place. So we sat at Urban Kitchen and had our lunch. Nice place just can’t get enough of the décor of the place. Classic and yet still got the touch of the modern chic. Urban Kitchen is like Marche restaurant. With the concept of move and pick from various, stall serving from local to western delicacies. Just have to bring your “card” around to tip on the bill. Eventually, I didn’t manage to eat on the spot, cos the cooking was taking too long that I had to make a take away. It smells good though, so looking forward to eating it back in the office. :)

'welcome to Urban Kitchen! Please keep your card at all times :P'

'Roro concentrating'

'not so creative, pick the same food'

'duck rice looks nice'

'cheers at the nice place'

'waiting for my order to come'

'a skit we play while waiting'

'just can't get a hold of our stupidity'

'my take away box, can't wait to be eaten'

Happy Harpitnas Day ^^

Battle Of The Davids

Finally, the last two standing. The battle we’ve been waiting for. The battle of the DAVIDS. Syesha got voted off last night leaving off the two guys at the final. A big round of applause to Syesha who’ve been tough to compete with till the big three. Anyway, can’t wait for the finals, the fight between the rocker and the pop-er. Could be one of the greatest final in the American Idol history. Great job Guys!

The 3 Battles

'The Final 3'

Last night, the final 3 battle down for the final, next week. It was a tough competition between the three. Especially with Syesha starting to show her true colour at the very last minute. Her powerful voice making it not less attractive than the two guys do.I like her "Fever" performance. Saucy!

'Syesha Mercado- Fever'

Archuleta with oh so tender and sincere voice still love by many till this day. Billy Joel's So It Goes just the perfect song.

'David Archuleta- And So It Goes'

And Cook with his powerful rocker voice always dares to try new arrangement. Aerosmith's I Don't Want To Miss A thing, Nice!

'David Cook-I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing'

As always, Simon gave some true and weird comment to the contestants. Like the comment given to Archuleta, he said that Archuleta was like a
Chihuahua trying to be a tiger after singing Chris Brown’s With You. Heh?! What are you trying to say Simon?

Well anyway, my vote is still for Archuleta. Even though some might say that, he is too young to be a star and still have a long way to come before his stardom but I guess I believe in his honesty of his true potential. All finger crossed for Archuleta ^^

Mom's Birthday

Yeah! This year we got her! The surprise was at midnight, while she was about ready to go to sleep. Lit up the clown candle on a small Oreo cream cake just to make it look more festive :D Then, SURPRISE! Happy Birthday! (sorry can't show you picture on this one, due to inappropriate wardrobe :P) I can show you Pik-pik though:D

'Pik2 waiting for his slice of cake'

After blowing candle and cutting the cake, we sleep and continue the celebration at night with a decent family dinner at a new restaurant nearby. It’s Yakoya, Japanese shabu-shabu buffet. Nice place!

'Shabu-shabu dipping sauce, very sour'

'mix it all together with chopped chilly and voila'

'while waiting for the soup to boil'

'side dish'

'you can order as many of this plate, mMm... yummy!'

'lots and lots of veggie'

'mother daughter'

'a quick pose with the birthday girl'

Happy Birthday, Midut!

A Collector's Ego

'just an update on the weather today'

Today, when I arrived at the office, my colleague was arranging his Marvels statue on the table. His statue collections become more and more outrageous. It’s all started with a small cheap one he bought by the market. Then a friend started to offer him the middle range one, made of plastic yet the detail of it making it look as realistic. And now he is into the expensive statue. The hand carving is so detail and precise to the actual look. It’s too delicate to play on. Becoming a collector is addictive. No matter how expensive it is, you won’t feel “complete” if you don’t collect it all. You just won’t get enough of what you have so far. You just keep on wanting for more, no matter how expensive or outrageous it is. So is it worth it? Maybe if your collection is limited edition that you might sell it for more than you buy. Still is it worth it to fulfill your collector’s ego?

'look at those statues'

nice collection, guys!

GAP[ed]!

Sue just came back from her “work” trip to the US. She was send to the US for a Guess Convention held in L.A. Her convention was 4 days. But she extended her stay to 2 weeks, for holiday. How great is that? Not only that she got a free ticket to fly there but also a 2 WEEKS LEAVE. Arghhhh! So jealous. Good thing for her, she brought me a gift just to kill my jealousy. Yeah that’s when I got my Gap perfume! Loveeee the packaging and the fresh scent of washed cotton. Thanks, Sue! For the lovely bribe :P

'very classic looking bottle'

'smells nice, just like fresh iron, washed cotton sheet'

The New Treat

'he's looking so happy'

Mom just got back from her trip to Singapore. She brought back Pik-pik his favourite snack. After all its hard to find a good doggy snack here in Jakarta. Or maybe its only hard to find one for Pik-pik, he’s a picky eater. :P
